R O M A N
Vampire
Profile

The Basics

Name: Roman Donato (last name only known by his wife.)
Age: He appears to be in his late twenties or early thirties. He is closer to sixty, having been a vampire for nearly thirty years.
Species: Vampire - Bitten, not born.
Sexual Orientation: He was a ladies' man but now only has eyes for his wife.
Wife: Destiny Death
Child: Octavian Death

Appearence

Height: 6ft.
Build: A lean, slender build with some muscle definition, mostly on arms and chest.
Hair: Medium-length hair reaching his shoulders in places and layered.
Eyes: Deep dark brown in colour.
Clothing: Likes to be well dressed; shirts and tailored jackets are a must.
Other Trait: Has a faint British accent.

Personality

Cocky, confident, flirtatious, charming, handsome, dashing, and funny are just a few of the adjectives Roman would use to describe himself to just about anybody who will listen.

He enjoys the finer things like wine, women, and a good book. He enjoys the company of others and has a mischievous nature about him. He hates to be bored and will occupy himself in whatever way he can, if only to kill time.

But the traits he is not so quick to brag about are more personal. He is reluctant to discuss his past and always finds a quick and witty way to avoid the topic.
He dislikes and distrusts most humans and sees them as only good for two things: eating or screwing. But he is loyal to his own kind and those he considers friends.

Abilities

Immortality: possess an infinite life span.

Enhanced Strength: has supernatural strength.

Regenerative Healing: The user can rapidly regenerate. In other words, they recreate lost or damaged tissues, organs, and limbs. The rate and amount of healing varies widely. Roman is considered to be at an expert level. Which means

*External wounds, including fractured bones and deeper burns, may heal at a much more accelerated rate, disregarding severity.

*Cellular and genetic damage are significantly reduced.

*Lost limbs may be regenerated quickly or can be reattached.

*Can survive severe blood loss.

*Minor damaged internal organs may heal, but more severity may be beyond repair and take more time to heal.

*Nerves may remain damaged.

Skills

Fighting: He has no formal training, but he has learned self-defence and how to use his fists in a fight when required.

Weapons: No formal training, but how hard can it be to shoot a gun or use a knife?

Languages: He has a deep love of languages and can speak most modern languages such as French, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin, and Russian, and although not fluent in other languages, he has picked up various useful phrases in most other languages.

Weaknesses

Sunlight Vulnerability: As a vampire, sunlight is fatal if exposed for any amount of time. Thus resulting in his movements being restricted between sunset and dawn.

Silver: As a vampire, silver is toxic and can kill in large quantities.

Regenerative Healing:

*Instantly lethal attacks are likely unrecoverable.

*Constant, overwhelming attacks may damage users faster than they can regenerate.

*Disintegration or Incineration will kill the user permanently.

*Decapitation, or destruction of the brain, will kill the user.

*Destruction as a whole will negate any chance of regeneration.

*If the weapon used stays in the wound, regeneration may be slowed or stopped.

*Pain Suppression is not included.

History

Roman's past is very private, and he never speaks of the family, but he has openly admitted to travelling the world and tasting the exotic women that crossed his path.

Saints Stand had been his home for the last few years. He enjoyed the drink, the gambling, and the women. But all of that changed after the Eradication. He was in the middle of a bloodbath, and only for his advanced healing abilities, he would never have made it out alive.

He made it out of the blood-soaked streets and into the Black Woods, wounded, riddled with bullets but alive. It was more than most could say as their bodies lay riddled with silver or in pieces.

He found sanctuary in an old manor he later learned was called Death Manor, the home to a woman named Cassandra and her daughter Destiny. After that day, more of her family arrived, and all just seemed to accept his presence as he tried to help out in whatever way he could.

There, he slowly fell in love with the girl known as Destiny. He thought his chances were dashed when she disappeared with her father to Mayhem, but he refused to believe she wasn't out there somewhere. Leaving Death Manor, he went to find his love, and he did. They travelled the world together, finding their way to an exotic paradise.

Every day was idyllic, but Destiny was feeling the pull of home. Knowing their time in paradise was ending; he decided to make Destiny his wife before they returned to Death Manor. It was perfect, as was she, and now they once again reside in the manor but as husband and wife.  It wasn't long after they discovered they were pregnant with their first child. Despite his wife's wishes to be home with her family,  they both concluded that this was not where they wanted to raise their child. The threat of Ox Corp and the numerous enemies of her family made it unsafe despite what abilities their child may be blessed with. So, they decided it was time to move again, and this time, they left for Italy, Roman's home country.

With Hope's blessing and some funding, they set up a home in the Italian countryside; peace and tranquillity welcomed their son, Octavian Death, into a better world and for a while, it was perfect. Octavian grew, and they spent their nights by the beach, Roman teaching him languages and finding a sense of peace in just being a " normal " family. However, there was a dark shadow looming over their paradise. Despite Destiny's refusal to be like her father, Mayhem had a way of pulling her back. What seemed like a few minutes to him appeared to be years, if not decades, for Destiny, and she was losing more and more of her memory every time.

So Roman made a deal with a Stregheria he knew of to save his wife in the only way he could. With some blood and magic. This magic didn't come for free, and he now owed the witch a favour, but he would pay anything to save his wife from Mayhem. So they were bound to each other in blood; their wedding rings were their anchors. They could feel a bond between them that Roman could only compare to a sire bond, but it was different. He could pull on the bond and use his ring to reach his wife wherever she was, including Mayhem. It had been Destiny's saving grace. He had pulled her out of Mayhem more than once, and to his relief, she returned to him, body and mind every time. Sometimes the mind took slightly longer to come back, but she would always eventually remember, and he was a patient vampire; he would always wait and be there to help her remember when she came back.

Life was simple for a man married to the Queen of Mayhem until they received a text from Hope. Knigh was dead. It was a blow to the family, Knigh was the rock, and he knew that his loss would be felt for years to come. Respecting Destiny's wishes, they returned to Death Manor on what was supposed to be a short visit to pay their respects. However, nothing was ever that simple with the Deaths. Unfortunately, his and Destiny's stay was far longer than planned as Ox Corp brought all hell to their door. A battle ensued, and they lost the manor, but more importantly than any brick and mortar, they lost Marcus, and Hope lost her mind and tried bringing him back.

Everything changed for the family after the attack. Hope gave up the fight and focussed on Mori, Marcus's daughter, who she raised like her own, and Nikolai, her son whose parentage was kept as a closely guarded secret even from her family. Destiny wanted to stay and be there for her niece and nephew, so they came to a compromise. They would spend half of the year in Italy, in their little piece of paradise, and then they would return to Saints for the rest of the year and for the proceeding five years; that's precisely what they did.

The first half of the year would be spent in Italy; it was cooler and darker, which meant that Romans could be out and about more in Italy's winter and then they would return to Saints in the second half of the year. Roman focussed on raising Octavian and protecting Destiny from herself. Her " trips " to Mayhew grew longer with every visit, and her memory took longer and longer to recover. He worried every day about what might happen to her if he failed to drag her back one day, but it only made him treasure the moments they did have together more and more as he tried to make memories with and their son as he feared that soon that was all that Octavian would have of her.
