Coming Home.

Post by Romal Dimitru on Fri 18 Aug 2017, 19:17

The shackles painfully bit into the flesh of his wrists blistering and bubbling the flesh beneath them. He could only assume they were silver and probably blessed in some religious ceremony. He was often made to wear them, they weakened him and caused great pain not just to his limbs but throughout his whole body but he no longer fought when the soldiers came in to placed them upon him.
The surgery he had received upon arrival had saved his life but they were no fools they were keeping him purposefully weak. Regular testing and injecting with various serums had him dulled down and pitiful for the majority of the time. They only allowed him to recover slightly once a week and that was so they could transport him to an outside area to try and test the powers he possessed, even then they only allowed him to recover enough to use a fraction of his true potential. He was no real threat to them they had made sure of that.

Emaciated and exhausted he kept his head down as the team escorted him through the building, one person holding each of his arms, two in front of him and two behind with scientists following up a few feet after that. It had become his routine, once a week on a day he thought was a Thursday, they would force him to dance like a circus freak and examine what ever results they would get. If he refused to comply, which he often had done at first he was punished in ways only hatred allowed.

The sun burnt his eyes yet he no longer fought to shield them, red raw eye lids blinking away the pain as he was led outside to an court sized area with high metal fencing. It was the only time they ever allowed him access to the elements or anything that he could use to harm them and protect himself, not that he was kept in any fit state to.
Unshackling him the soldiers pulled away aiming their guns sights upon his chest and head as the science nerds stepped forward to do their thing. Today choosing to start scanning the runes upon his form and their reactions to being in the sunlight.

-Five Months Passed-

Weeks had passed him by, it could have been months, hell for all he knew it had only been minutes. Time meant nothing to Romal. The light was on constantly in his room at a bright setting and when ever he was moved outside for testing they made sure it was always day so he would be disorientated and secondarily overwhelmed by the lack of darkness. His eye lids were cracked, dried blood around them as the skin flaked away painfully, not unlike his lips which hadn't seen a drop of blood or water for that matter in the entire time he had been captive.

He still wore the same shorts he had woken in but the bandages no longer wrapped his torso. Bare now but for scars, his arm in a mangled purple mess he had wasted away. His body was not more then a skeleton, all traces of fat had long gone and muscle wastage had long ago taken hold.

It had been weeks since Romal had communicated with anyone. His will had been broken in a way yet in another it had hardened, he had given up no information and did not intend to. He would take secrets to the grave and protect who ever he could by doing so.

Anger had ran into depression, depression into desperation until eventually for the most part Romal no longer felt anything. He was thoughtless and vacant only reacting every now and again to the more brutal of stimuli he was subjected to. At first he had been sure they would grow bored of him and his neutral state but he had given up such hopes many days ago.

-
A tap at the door alerted him to soldiers the locks turning as the usual crew barged their way in. Unkind hands pulling him up onto his feet. Holding his arms up his hands limp at the wrist he allowed himself to be bound by the wrists. His chin lifting for a metal loop to he shut around it.
They were there to walk him like a mangled stray dog out into the outside arena, to do God only knew what to him.
Recently they had been testing his resilience to things so he expected more of the same.

Today though something felt different, only slightly. Yet everything on the outside remained the same. The difference was enough to surface him more within his own mind and it took him a few minutes to realise that the difference was within himself. Something had changed. He was done, enough was enough, no one was coming for him and he certainly didn't intend on wasting any more time in such a miserable state.

He played along, walking out into the exercise area as per usual.
A group of soldiers but mainly brains waited for him which again was normal to him now.
Raising his arms and lifting his chin the shackles were taken off as crudely as they had been placed on and the soldiers moved away.

He stood there head lowered for a while, listening to them all chatter about the days agenda and then he felt it again. He was done.
Lifting his head he rose his gaze and for the first time in a month he looked at them. Directly at each and every one of them, his eyes travelling from face to face, some of them noticed with surprise other's were to busy to see the change.

He was in no position or state to cause any major damage but he could cause enough, he knew that. It wasn't like he had to worry about preserving any energy at the end of it. He knew he wouldn't be walking away from this. At least he hoped not.
Tightening he focused all that he had upon the earth beneath his feet, drawing any and all the energy he could get from it and into himself.
Trembling and exhausted he pushed himself as far as he could go until his right hand lifted towards the group. The earth starting to crack in their direction, sections of it lifting slightly into the air. The portable computers on trolleys all shorting and sparking behind the science geeks.
His long dead runes finally finding some spark of light returning them to a purple glow within his peeling and bruised flesh.
If he could take them all out with him then he would.

B A D E . P R I C E
Human || Oxen Corporation Commander

Bade made his way down from his office to oversee the continued testing of the vampire that had been in their custody for the past few months. The vampire may not have spoken or provided any intel on the covenant but his biology had proven invaluable and was helping in the development of new weapons, weapons that would finally end the vampire surge once and for all. For weeks now shipments had been coming in with weapons in preparation for what Bade hoped would be the final eradication. He didn't think he take another one.

Stepping outside, it was nice to be out of his stuffy office and be out in the fresh air. He never wanted to be a shirt and tie kinda guy. He preferred to be out on the field, training, working, not pushing paper all day. SO despite having to deal with the vampire he rather looked forward to these testing sessions. It gave him an excuse to get out and 'oversee' the asset personally. He walked over the science director and began discussing the latest updates. A cure for vampirism was still out of their hands and until they had that they would have to protect the humans that were still alive, not protect the ones that were gone.

As the soldiers placed the vampire in place, Bade was more interested in the screens with the previous sessions data then he was in the bag of bones before him. He remembered when he had first arrived how broad and muscular he had been. It surprised Bade a little bit to see the pathetic creature in such a state. It was almost inhumane but how else were you to treat a being that wasn't human. " So what's in store for today? " he asked the team and they began to explain the various procedures they would be doing. They kept it simple as they explained it to him much to is relief, he was no scientist, he started as a solider so he always made a point of respecting the eggheads and what they were doing.

As they were setting up for the first test, the ground beneath him began to tremble. Bade looked around him as one of the scientist's asked if they were having an earthquake. At first Bade was inclined to agree but as he looked over at the prisoner and he saw the look in his eye, he knew he was behind it. The ground suddenly cracked, the fault travelling toward them. The soldiers moved and Bade ordered the scientist's to clear the area. They only had basic self defense training. They weren't equipped to handle an escalating situation of this kind. With the team out of harms reach, Bade drew his weapon and aimed it at the vampire.

Had it been a civilian or a human, Bade may have giving them a warning before firing. But Bade didn't give warnings to vampires as he fired two shots, one into each leg. That was his warning. He hoped by crippling him it would stop the seismic activity and he could save the specimen for future testing. Unfortunately, it didn't stop. More cracks were forming and if they continued they would eventually swallow the buildings. Bade had to make a decision, either he terminated the threat or he risked the lives of the men and women who worked under him. It was an easy decision. No creature was more valuable then his employees.

Aiming once again, he still refused him a verbal warning. He could see the gun, he knew he would shoot. How much more of a warning did he need? Bade instinctively aimed for a head shot but lowered to the chest. The morgue would never forgive him if he destroyed the brain, probably the least examined part of his body. They had discovered that he had a faint heartbeat so Bade made an educated presumption that a shot clean through would be enough to kill him. He looked the vampire in the eye, neither seemed to be backing down. It was almost as if he wanted to be shot and then it clicked. As he looked at the emaciated skeleton, Bade could almost respect the fact that he wanted to go down fighting.

Sighing, he aimed and with all the precision an expert marksman, he fired two shots into his chest, going through the sternum and into the chest cavity and puncturing the heart not once but twice. As the sound of the shoot echoed, the trembling stopped and the fault stopped widening. Bade had neutralized the threat but he felt oddly somber about it. He nodded to the soldiers at his side, giving them the all clear that he was done shooting. " Bring it down to the morgue. They'll want to examine him internally. " he ordered as he holstered his gun and began to walk away. He now had to go file a mountain of paperwork.

The earth was breaking up better then he had expected it to and for a moment he wondered if he could do some real damage to the place, so he took it up a notch the buildings surrounding the court yard trembling as slight cracks appeared in the brick work, all the while the floor around him breaking up rapidly towards the soldiers and the now running scientists.

It did not take long for the head soldier to clear the area of the less equip staff though and sadly his hopes for causing more damage would soon be drawn to a close, Bade having sorted himself out enough to level a gun towards him.
Two bullets left their chambers is quick fire, each one hitting him in the legs. First the left and then the right.
Stumbling backwards he managed some how to remain upright his powers only continuing to reap havoc on the earth around him as his eyes settled upon Bade's own.

He held the gaze, a silent communication passing between them, he wasn't going to stop this, not unless Bade killed him. He wanted him to know that and he wanted him to know that he was unafraid, after everything they had done to him he had no fear of them, his courage was something he didn't let them take from him.

His legs went out and he dropped to his knees, landing upon them he had but a second to adjust before two more bullets cracked through the air. One.. Two. Straight to his chest and into the heart. A single gasp shot out of deflated lungs as he thudded onto his back eyes rolling towards the white clouds. He felt a fleeting relief and then it was gone, everything was gone.

Things were changing at a rapid pace and a pace that was much to fast for the likes of Knigh. He may not have been that old in comparison to the majority of the coven when it came to vampire years but he had been immortal for a very long time. He was an old dog and this old dog did not like being taught new tricks.
Things had to change though, there was no choice and in a way he was glad they were. Hope had a lot more back up now and even though they would all soon have to run he knew that eventually as long as everything went to plan that they would all be better off. He just hoped they didn't lose to many along the way.

He had been keeping out of the way, swinging by when ever he could whilst also trying to keep track on his tear away son. The blood supply issue had been sorted by Matthew and for that he was thankful but they did all still have to make runs.
There were building materials, basic every day living items and medical supplies which still needed gathering and for that he was just the man. If taking out some soldiers along the way was needed he was more then happy to oblige.

More often then not he went it alone, he preferred it that way but some times he did have one of the twins with him. Tonight was one of those nights. They were on a medical run, he and Hope and they were nearing an ambulance that had left the main base a short while ago.
He had been tailing it until at a safe distance, which now they were.
Overtaking he slid his car in front of the ambulance forcing it up onto a curb and to a stop before he jumped out.
"Take the drivers I will take the back" he called over the hood before darting off behind the ambulance to deal with who ever was inside.

Since Hope's last run in with Ox Corp, she had been itching to get her hands bloody again. She had been coming down off of Matthew's blood but she still felt better then ever although she wouldn't have minded another bite or two of what he had to give. Matthew was verging on addictive and she was going to have to watch herself with him. Matthew and his sister were still recovering from their sibling spat so Hope decided to give them, especially Matthew some space. The last thing she wanted was to jump him before he was ready or bite him when he still had silver in his system.

So she decided to use up some of her pent up energy and help Knigh on a supply run. She was still running on high so she decided to put that to good use rather then keep looking at classifieds for a house to live in. Honestly the eradication was playing on her mind again and she needed a distraction. Thankful that distraction came in the form of her favorite uncle Knigh who as usual, had been basically silent the whole drive there. It suited her as she bopped along to the radio. He hadn't asked about her unusually perky demeanor and she didn't feel like explaining it. He was just going to have to deal with it.

Spotting the ambulance, Hope turned down the radio and got ready to move. Once they started things would move very quickly but she had been working with Knigh basically her whole life, they knew how to get the job done. Of course Knigh often put himself in the line of fire rather then her but the last few jobs, Knigh was letting her take the kills and she was more then happy to oblige. As Knigh told her to take the drivers, she smiled back at him. " Gladly. " she replied as she gripped the handle of her new favorite toy that had been well oiled by now.

Jumping out of the car, Hope looked over at the drivers. They didn't look like ambulance drivers, instead there were two soldiers who were by now preparing to fire their guns at her. Smirking she moved quicker then their eyes could follow and she pulled the windscreen from the front of the vehicle. There was a couple of shot's fired but one missed and the other was only a mere graze on her arm. It wasn't even worth complaining about. As she pushed the last body out of the cab, her clothes once again covered in blood, it was a look she was getting all too comfortable with. Walking around the body of the ambulance, her ripper trailed behind her, the shadow on the ground appearing as though she had a tail.

Leaning against the door as she picked the dried blood from under her fingernails, appearing cool, calm and collected. " You're getting slow in your old age Knigh. " she teased as she looked up to see what it was he was doing. Oddly she saw the body bag in the back. " What's with the bag? "she asked thinking it was strange for an ambulance to be transporting someone who was already dead. That's what a hearse was for. Something didn't seem right. Stepping into the back of the cab, she waked over to the bed and put her hand on the bag half expecting it to feel like weapons or maybe a secret blood transfer. Curiously, it did feel like a body and Hope couldn't help herself. She took the zip and nothing could have prepared her for who she saw inside.

" Fuck... " she muttered as she stared at the emaciated body of Romal. He looked dead, he looked worse then dead, he looked like he was already on his way to decomposing. " Knigh... " she said wanting him to get a look at what she had seen so she knew she wasn't hallucinating. When he'd acknowledged him. She quickly zipped the bag back up. " I'll grab the supplies, you grab him. " she said moving around the cab and stuffing whatever she could find into a bag. She wasn't about to have any arguments from Knigh regarding Romal's body. He didn't deserve to die but there was nothing Hope could do about that. The least she could do was bring him home to his family and make sure he was buried the proper way. She was going to bring him home.

He used to worry about throwing Hope into an all guns blazing situation, he used to worry about sending either twin in but he had backed off, especially in Hope's case. She had proven herself to be a good study and an excellent killer on plenty of occasions now and he was also aware that he had to cut the apron strings a bit. After all she was the leader of a coven now, she had to be able to look after and defend herself and do the same for many others. He would not always be there to hand hold in every fight they were to head into. It was time to let her bloom on her own and so far so good.

She made short work of the drivers, a few bullets went off but no scent of Hope's blood drifted his way so he didn't bother to make his way to the front. He dropped one soldier of his own as swiftly as he had seen him and was looking down upon him with a quirked brow wondering why they needed one in the back when he heard Hope finishing off.

Stepping inside the van he noticed the body bag but first he opened a bag of his own and began to shove any and all medical supplies into it before Hope joined him.
Unlike himself curiosity got the better of his protege and she went to the bag opening it with a gasped word of shock which caused him to turn and also look.

Inside was a starved body, male and almost unrecognisable. If it wasn't for the runes etched in the skin he may have not given it a second look yet seeing them he knew it was one of the demon vampire brothers. The tell tale it was Romal were old faded colours upon his hair and some piercings. Frowning he nodded at Hope who seemed to be waiting for him to agree upon who lay before them.

Handing his bag across to her so she could do as she wanted he nodded. Knigh may have been as uncaring as a monster at times but he also would not leave one of their own behind, fallen or not.
Pulling the bag containing Romal up he rested it over his shoulder and climbed out of the van, turning to head towards the car a slight pause to his step as he turned to wait for Hope. A niggling feeling in the back of his mind about the cargo he carried, yet he didn't want to speak until he was sure.
He was convinced he heard a single heart beat, very faint. He waited and after about 30 seconds he was sure there was yet another.

Picking up his pace again he went to the car, pulling open the back doors to slide the bag inside, he pulled the zip downwards a look of disgust at the mess within playing across his face as he listened and waited again.
"Hope come here and be quiet, listen"

To Hope's relief Knigh didn't argue, he didn't say anything at all as usual. The dynamics between them hadn't changed much except for the fact that Knigh was giving her more free reign when they were together. She was relieved that the dynamics between them hadn't changed despite her rise in the coven. She was doing her best to not throw her weight around and be domineering especially with her elders like Knigh and Ajax. But she was naturally a leader, she resented the word bossy, and so she had the tendency to take charge in most situations and Knigh tended to listen.

Knigh took Romal's body and carried it with relative care. Hope meanwhile ransacked the the back of the ambulance. Romal was already dead so there was no point in making it a wasted trip. After Matthew and Enya's injuries the other night, they had seriously depleted her supplies and knowing her lot, she would be needing them sooner rather later. Having cleared out the back of the ambulance, she threw the bag over her shoulder and stepped out, her heels hitting the tarmac. She jogged over to the car and threw the bag into the boot of the car. That's when she heard Knigh calling her.

Slamming the trunk of the car, she walked over to join Knigh by his side. " What? " she asked as he looked at Romal's body with a strange look on his face. She stopped for a moment and she listened, hearing nothing. Unfortunately Hope was rather impatient. " I don't.. " she went to say and then stopped and she began to listen carefully. There, she heard it again. " Is that... no there's no way he's alive.. " she said looking as repulsed as Knigh now. He looked like a skeleton with skin on top and nothing else. How he could still be alive was beyond her.

Moving back to the back of the car, she grabbed a couple of blood bags with a new sense of urgency. " Knigh, start the car and get us home. " she instructed as she slammed the boot once again, as she ripped open a blood bag and started connecting it to an IV. If he was alive, he was barely holding on and Hope was not going to let him die on her watch. Getting into the backseat, she didn't spare him any dignity as she unceremoniously mounted him. It was the only way to keep herself stable in the back of the car while Knigh drove. Finding a vein was going to be next to impossible she went straight for the carotid in the neck and she squeezed. Pushing as much blood into his system as quickly as possible before she tackled the holes in his chest.

She came to stand beside him looking a lot more impatient then he did as they listened. She she began to interrupt their silence he sent her a scathing look that would chill most people but she didn't have much time to notice as the beat sounded once more. Now he was convinced, Romal was alive, he wasn't imagining it but he wasn't actually sure if that was a good thing or not. By the look of him death would have probably been a mercy. But now Hope had also heard the heart beat he knew she would fight like hell fire to keep the man alive.

"How is that even possible" he muttered underneath his breath as he moved aside for Hope and went to once again take the drivers seat. Urgency was in the air now and he wanted to get them both back to the coven where at least he would know Hope was safe.

Starting the car he moved off taking it as fast as he dared knowing Hope was probably performing all sorts of medical procedures in the back seat. He kept his eyes front not particularly wanting to see what it was like to try and relive a living skeleton. If Zombies ever came to exist he was sure they would look how Romal looked currently.

He clock watched every once in a while but for the most part they made good time and they were soon heading back along the country roads towards the coven.
"Sorry" he couldn't help the bumps the road was uneven here, he slowed slightly and did his best to get them home.

It was cold, it was dark and most of all it was silent. Romal had wanted Death even though he knew he would have dropped back into either Hell of Mayhem for eternal torture at the hands of his father but this was not death. This was something else. He was aware of blackness but nothing else, no sensations or thoughts reached him here. It was peaceful and a welcome break from all the many years of torment he had faced in life and in death. Nothingness would have scared most but to him it was comfort.

In reality Romal was very close to losing the battle with life and death. Death was literally beats of his heart away until a hand plunged into the chest. Hope trying to retrieve the bullets.
With one bullet removed blockage dislodged further up a rush of blood reaching his brain.
It was a temporary rush but in that rush Romal came back his eyes flickering open in a moment of confusion as they focused upon the face above him.

He was far from understanding his situation at that point so he smiled, he couldn't think straight but he knew who it was.
With heavy eye lids and a smile he spoke, the first words he had spoken in at least forty days. His voice gritty yet clear enough.

"Ah.. you finally came to your senses then Hope" he felt as though sleep were coming for him yet he chuckled his eyes closing once again as he began to slip away back into the blackness. "You won't walk right for a week.." and he was gone, lost once again but at least he had felt something other then despair if only for a few seconds.

Knigh drove as quickly and as careful as he could but Hope was more then capable of using her legs to keep her where she wanted to be. It was like riding a horse only while she was riding this horse, she had her hands wrist deep in a family member's chest cavity. He may not have been Death by name but he had links to her families going back centuries and she was not going to be the one to explain to her aunt how he died.

Pulling out the first bullet she was able to ignore the burning sensation in her hands. Years of having a dragon for a boyfriend had built up her resistance even to handling small amounts of silver. It still hurt but she could tolerate, that was the difference. As she tossed the bullet on the floor, Romal suddenly came too, much to her shock. He really was alive. " Romal? "she asked wondering if his was completely with it or not.

To her surprise, he knew who she but completely misunderstood the situation. Raising an eyebrow and trying not to laugh she shouted to the front. " We've got life back here. " she told Knigh, the relief in her voice evident. She shook her head as Romal seemed to boost about what he thought was happening. " Somehow I think you'll be the one not walking for a while gorgeous. " she said not certain if he heard her but she couldn't wait for him to come back to his senses and remind him of this conversation.

As he passed out again, Hope once again, stuck her hand in his chest. It was not a sensation she particularly enjoyed but she never shy'd away from doing what needed to be done and there was at least one more bullet in there that she knew. As Knigh went over a bump, Hope had to be careful that she didn't pull the heart out with the bullet. She went to snap at Knigh but he quickly apologized and she bit her tongue. He was trying his best as was she.

As they pulled up outside the house, Hope had pulled out the bullets and managed to stitch him up. She hoped that Romal would gain some level of consciousness soon, if only to see the large capitol H she stitched in the middle of his chest. " Looks better already. " she chuckled hoping that when he saw it, he'd have that sense of humor and laugh about it like see did. " Right gorgeous let's get you bed. " she smirked as she could imagine what his response would be to that.

As Knigh opened the door she slid out, covered in more blood then she was before, her hands, almost entirely red. " Knigh will you grab him? " she asked. " and take him out that bag, don't want to give everyone a heart attack. " she said thinking that she didn't want Asha or Ajax seeing anyone in a body bag. It would cause unnecessary upset but then Romal barely looked a person. " Here.. " she said going to the boot again and grabbing a blanket. " Wrap him in that. It'll thicken him up. " she said as she threw it over him in the back seat and stood back. It was an improvement but not much.

As they neared the house he heard a quiet let familiar voice speak to Hope then Hope confirming that Romal had some life in him yet. He glanced up into the mirror watching for a split second with a nod before turning his attention back towards the road as silence once again resumed. He didn't say anything, didn't want to give her any false Hope, he doubted the life signs would be present for that much longer, even though Romal admittedly had so far defied the odds in a big way. He still wasn't sure how he was alive or that he should be. The damage was untold and the outward appearance probably only scratched the surface of the damage within.
How had they not known Romal had been missing?

Getting out at the house he walked around to Hope opening the door as she put her leaders head back on asking him to do a couple of things, all of which he nodded to. It was easier for him to carry the male their sizes alone a lot closer to one another then to Hope's. It was less awkward for him to take the man inside.

The blanket was thrown towards him as he ducked his head to lean inside the back of the car pulling the zip away he drew the bag down and off of Romal. The man in shorts leaving nothing of the starvation he had been through to the imagination. It was an unsettling and disgusting sight to see anyone in such a position let alone one of their own, yet he remained impassive as he pulled Romal up as gently as he could whilst covering him with the blanket to conceal him from the others.
"Get the door. Lead the way" he muttered to Hope as he glanced towards the house.
Stepping back he kicked the car door shut and followed her, hoping that they were to avoid any of the others. At least until they were sorted and Romal was either stable or gone, it would be easier to deal with then panic if the others saw him.

Knigh picked up Romal from the back seat and cradled him as Hope grabbed the freshly stolen medical supplies from the back of the car. She was going to be using more of in the next half an hour then she had planned too. At this rate she was going to have to send Knigh back out to hit another ambulance or clinic this week, if not sooner. It wasn't ideal but at least she didn't have to worry about the blood supply, she had Matt to thank for that as well as the pep in her step.

Going into the house, she held the door open for Knigh and then began instructing him. " I need to grab some blood bags from the pantry. Get him on his bed. I'll be right behind you. " she said as they parted ways going in separate directions. Knigh upstairs, Hope toward the kitchen. Jogging into the kitchen she headed straight for the pantry. She wasn't sure exactly how much blood it would take to re-hydrate a vampire but she was about to find out. Grabbing a half a dozen bags, she intended on attaching as many as possible all at once to re-hydrate him and hopefully stop him from becoming dust.

Running back up the stairs, Knigh had Romal on the bed by now. Placing the bag down beside the bed she began ripping open the IV's and setting them up. " Here, find a vein and put it in. Doesn't need to be pretty. " she said handing half the bags to Knigh. She knew Knigh was more then capable of putting an IV in and with Romal in the condition he was in she needed all the help she could get. " Ok handsome, time for the good stuff. " she said to Romal in case on some level he could hear her. She hoped he could, she hoped that on some level he knew he was safe and home after what he had been through.

Hooking up six IV's, three on each side. Hope did a more thorough examination of Romal's body. She didn't find any more serious injuries but what she found disgusted her to her core. Weeks if not months of abuse and torture were riddled in scars all over his body and worst of all, she had no idea. She was supposed to be running this coven and Romal had been in the hands of Ox Corp and she was clueless. " Did you know he was missing? " she asked Knigh already knowing the answer but she had to try to find a way to vent the anger that was slowly coming to the surface.

As she moved away from Romal she began to pace the room and she didn't know what to do. She wanted to yell and scream, to grab a chair and toss it against the wall. She had let him down and he had almost died because of her, she was responsible for everyone under this roof and that included Romal. " How the fuck did I not know he was missing Knigh? Didn't someone in this fucking house think to tell me? " she asked clearly disappointed that no one thought to tell her and that she hadn't picked up on it before now. She was meant to be a leader and so far all she had done was move everyone in and nearly get Romal killed. It didn't bode well for the future and she suddenly felt the weight of everything back on her slender shoulders.

Heading upstairs into the house Knigh had to track his way to Romal's room never having been there before, luckily a faint scent of him remained so he located it fairly quickly. Again luck would have it the door was unlocked, sadly a sign that Romal had probably intended on coming home a lot sooner then he had done.
Taking him across to the bed he lay him down, keeping the blanket upon him though pulling it away to expose his front as they would need to look him over to make sure he had no other major injuries other then the bullets to the chest and legs.

Hope came in and passed him the bags, he took them up and instantly set to work connecting them to lines before placing them upon rails to hang.
Taking an arm up be began to tap at the veins trying to get them to rise. It was frustrating most were useless or collapsed from long starvation but he found one, supernatural eye sight proving useful as he inserted the needle, taping it down before he joined Hope to look upon the disgraceful sight beneath them.

Romal had been through a lot. Old scars were there but there were now more new ones then he cared to count. One of his arms looked as though it had been very badly damaged at some point. The boy had been through a hell of a fight at some point then had to endure multiple medical procedures and testings by the look of it. He was angry, it didn't show but he was and it was just another thing to add to the list he had built up against Ox Corp. Knigh had probably killed more soldiers then anyone but he didn't intend on stopping any time soon. In fact looking at Romal he intended on stepping it up a notch once again.

Hope was in some sort of panicked rage as she now paced behind him. Wanting some sort of rage out but he couldn't help. He had no idea that Romal was missing, he shook his head. Of course he didn't know, he would have taken the building to the ground to get him back had he.

Instead of joining her in her display of emotions he decided to put himself to use and gather the equipment he needed to withdraw the less urgent bullets from Romal's legs, he could do without the silver in his system.
Stretching the flesh with tongs he pulled each bullet out with tweezers, before bandaging them tight, the skin didn't look strong enough to hold stitches. "I assumed he had gone to his home land... they often do" he replied while concentrating. "I'm not here a lot. I didn't notice to be honest"

Hope was seething and unlike Knigh, she was unable to contain it as well as he was. But then Knigh didn't have the weight of the coven on his shoulders. She knew that something had happened to Romal but she had assumed that he had been rescued and was recovering in Romania. She hadn't been told that he was still there and she didn't know who to blame. She had been distracted with Ajax's mental well being and finding a safer home for everyone, that she hadn't thought twice to ask about Romal.

" Yeah I had too.. " she muttered folding her arms across her body as she was trying to deal with her emotions. She was angry that Romal had been left there to die and yet she felt guilty and that it was partly her fault. She should have rang and checked on him, she should of checked with Asha. Lots of shoulda, woulda, coulda's. But none of them helped her or Romal now. Sighing, the reality of running the coven was starting to dawn on her and it was more then just killing a few soldiers and keeping the pantry full.

Taking a seat in one of the chairs she rubbed her face with her hands. " This shouldn't have happened.... " she said to herself, disgusted with the whole situation. Romal wasn't even a quarter of the man he used to be and she couldn't help but feel it was all her fault. " Fuck.. " she muttered to herself clearly taking it very personal. Looking out the window, shadows moving in the corner of her eye had caught her attention. She smirked, it seemed his pets knew daddy was home. " This can't happen again Knigh, I won't have it. " she said to him looking to him for some support. She did not want her time as leader of this coven to be hallmarked like this. She was not her father and she wanted to be better then her grandfather and this was going to end here and now.

Hope was angry and she was looking for someone to pin point the blame on, anyone. She was in a rage and eventually started putting that blame upon her own feet. He pressed his lips together and gave the man one more looking over before he too went towards the side of the room getting a better view of the window.
Within the house he could hear the quiet warning growls of 'Dog' his doberman as the two shadows moved through the garden and into the house.
It would have been an alarming sight to anyone that didn't know the demon's had their own hell hounds as companions. And while it was unsettling thinking of such beasts being around the place Knigh didn't pay them much mind.

He was unsure what to do now. Romal was as patched up as they could make him. Only time and blood could give him any chance at pulling through the mammoth task of recovery.

"It's all of our faults Hope. No one in particular" he summed. "I guess some how he fell through the net. We all need to learn to keep better tabs on one another in the future"
That was really all they could do being that some of the members were known travellers and often went off to parts of the world far away.
"No point in focusing on what you can't change now" he referred to her anger. They couldn't change what had happened, they were not able to manipulate time.
"He looks better then he did when we found him. Focus on that"

She crossed her legs as she pressed one of her elongated nails against her lips. She wasn't used to having to keep her fury so contained. She would usually take it out on something or someone but she couldn't do that anymore. She missed the days when she was carefree and she could throw a tantrum whenever she liked. Nothing had ever been expected of her, Marcus was always the golden child growing up and then she had lived with Ryu in Jia where she was basically treated like a Princess. There was never anything required of her. But now here she was. The last of the great vampire families all under one roof and expecting her to lead them. A tantrum would not be tolerated.

The shadow dogs moved into the room and toward their master who was still unconscious. Their glowing eyes stared at him and then back at her, she presumed trying to gauge whether she was enemy or foe. " Don't you look at me like that. " she warned them but made no threatening move and used a calm tone. She was more then accustomed to Romal's pets and knew what she could and couldn't do around them. So long as she didn't threaten Romal in anyway, she was safe with them. She wasn't sure if the dogs could pick up on her intentions or not but if they were like the creatures they were modeled after they would know friend from foe.

Knigh began to speak and as usual, he was brutally honest. She would be getting no sympathy here but he was helping even if he didn't mean it. She wasn't solely responsible for Romal but she found the longer she was doing this job, the more attached she was getting to those she was supposed to lead. Sighing she did as Knigh suggested and tried to focus on the fact that they had saved him even if she did feel responsible for losing him in the first place. " Isn't that my job though, to keep tabs on people? I feel like I adopted a bunch of kids and they are just running circles around me. " It wasn't like Hope to talk about feelings especially not with Knigh but she didn't have many people she could confide in these days.

Rising from the chair, she walked back toward Romal. Passing one of his pets, she ran her hand along the shadow as though petting it. If they were going to be sticking around, she wanted to be on their good side. She went over to a dresser and opened one of the drawers. She pulled out a large blanket, much larger then the one from the car. Leaving it on the floor beside him, she took the medi bag and managed to find some antiseptic wipes in the bottom. It wasn't much but the least she could do was clean him up a bit before she told anyone he was home.

Quickly but gently, Hope used the wipes to take off the majority of the blood. Disturbingly, despite the fact that Hope had been pulling at things in his chest cavity there wasn't that much blood to clean. It was a clear sign of just how close to complete starvation he had come. " There that's better. " she said as she grabbed the blanket she had pulled out and proceeded to tuck it around him. She imagined that being as skinny as he was that even a demon vampire would feel the cold. " I'm going to stay here a while, I want to give him a head start and pump as many of these bags into him as I can. Try and plump him up a bit before anybody else see's him. " It sounded cruel not rushing to Asha or her family and telling them that Romal was home but she liked to think that she and Romal were cut from the same cloth and if roles were reversed, she'd rather be dead then have anyone see her like that.

" I hate to ask Knigh but would you grab Marcus and when you're free can you do another supply run? " she asked, she never dared order Knigh unless it was an emergency like earlier. She had too much respect for him. She grabbed the chair she had been sitting on earlier and pulled it closer to the bed within reach of the IV bags so she could change them without having to move. She sat, her legs tucked underneath her and she made herself comfortable as she had a long night ahead. " Oh and Knigh... " she said hoping to catch him before he left. " Thanks for everything tonight. " she added and then looked away. She knew that he mightn't appriciate the sentiment, it was Knigh after all but he was the most reliable man in her life and she had never really thanked him for that.

The hounds came into the room, the both of them still choosing to appear in their more shadowed of forms instead of their bulkier ones or their child like human ones, it was strange and would have been a little eerie if Knigh was inclined to be afraid of them but he wasn't, Dog in a bad mood had more bite then bark and he doubted the hell hounds were so easily wound up, though it was obvious to tell neither of them were happy with the state they had finally found their masters in. Low growls and grumbles filling the room as they moved to Romal's side looking at them both with a veiled warning Hope responded to and he did not.

Hope was in a world of her own misery over this whole thing and feeling some what sorry for herself. He understood it but she didn't really have time to think or feel like that, she certainly had a lot on but whether she liked it or not it was the job role she had taken on, whether she regretted it now or not. He would not have wanted it.
"They are all very old and used to doing things a certain way. They come and they go as they please and that had always been accepted. Maybe it is time you implement some changes or a system of checking in. No point getting all worked up about it, try to find a solution"
He was getting ready to leave the room he wanted Hope to speak with him like this but he also did not want to indulge the side of her that would have a temper or run off he wanted to guide her to make these decisions alone. It was obvious she was taking more of a lead, he had not seen Ajax around a lot, maybe the ancient were testing her and he didn't want her to fail.

He paused watching Hope set her up for the night and didn't protest it was probably the best thing for her to do.
"I'll make my leave" he informed her stopping by the door when she asked him to do another run.
"Of course. I will do another few runs this week" he nodded, nodding once again as she thanked him, he appreciated it but wasn't about to have a cry over it.
"See you soon" he replied leaving the room and Hope to the task of bringing a zombie back from the dead.
