Morning Glory Empty Morning Glory

Post by OrchidWed 5 May 2021 - 22:06

Gloria the Fairy of the Morning Glory.

Author's note, the history for this charter was partially written with AI Dungeon then modified a bit to make it smoother.

Name: Angio opsis Lazuli aceae.
For the Fey a true name is true power over others so this is something that is never given lightly. Though be weary, some fey will try to take a name to either have power over others or to literally take the name. For example, a Fey says 'Give me your name' or ‘May I have your name’  you answer and that name no longer applies to you.  Your friends and family, and even you seem to draw a blank when they try and use your old name. Luckily Gloria only seeks to take the names of those that do harm to her

Nickname: Gloria, Glory, Morning Glory.

Age: Fae age differently than most races Morning Glory's biological age is 2,597 though physically she looks young and spry in both her true form and Glamour (see powers)form. Specifics can be found in her Forms.

Race and Court: A Celtic fey, a fairy, member of the Seelie
Court. This court is known as a combination of the Summer and Spring Courts. Fey do not see in black and white, good and evil though the Fey of the Seelie court are considered benevolent as opposed to the Unseelie who are considered malevolent.
The Seelie Court were described as those fairies who would seek help from humans, warn those who have accidentally offended them, and return human kindness with favors of their own. Still, a fairy belonging to this court would avenge insults and could be prone to mischief. Seelie Court faeries expect courtesy and favors to be fulfilled; otherwise, they demand retribution and avenge what they see as insult or offense. Despite the facade of benevolence, they are in fact quite deceptive and self-serving, prone to mischief and tricks. Though faeries cannot lie, they are not always fully honest, often twisting their words and speaking half-truths

Sexual orientation: Pansexual

Forms:
Fey are unique creatures who can have multiple forms they can change on a whim for a specific purpose or just depending on their mood. While the true size ranges from 2 toadstools high to gargantuan trees fey can also cast a false image of their forms. Morning Glory is a small fey with most of her forms under a foot tall. She can cast a false image of her forms as well, so both true and false height shall be listed. Though unable to truly interact with anything, the Glamor can make it seem as if the false forms are manipulating the physical world. Otherwise any interaction is the true from flying about to carry out a task. For example a false form may open a door. This can be done by the true form flying to where the false hand is located and pulling a door open herself.

True Form
The Fey are called the Fair Folk for a reason. Their beauty is legendary and makes it very difficult for one to look away. Gloria is no exception. In her True form she has wings that resemble that of a monarch butterfly, hair as red as sunset, skin as fair as the full moon, and eyes that are the colors of the brightest gemstones and a face that seems sculpted by a master making a study of feminine beauty. She is slight, yet does not lack in muscular definition and is not afraid to hide her body. She dresses in earthy tones from vibrant greens of mosses to the darkest brown of rich soil. This form stands at 10Inchestall. Don’t let her size fool you. She can project a false height of this form at 5’9’’ high though for the most part she doesn’t cast an illusion when in this form.

Flower Form
This form is used when doing plant magic or casting spells. While just as beautiful and perhaps more pale, this form is more lean and less muscular. Pure grace and feminine energy run through this form and she is a little taller standing at 15inches (24.5cm). Her butterfly-like wings are replaced with wings made of multiple parts that resemble flowers and leaves of the Morning Glory. Her eyes take the deep purple color of the flower as well and she will usually decorate herself with a flower or two, often wearing green to complete the flower like look. She can summon a wand that vanishes back to the fey realm the moment she releases it to help cast old magicks. Her hair takes on an almost green-yellow tint. Her false height in this form is 5ft 6inc

Bark form
This form is used for defense and fighting. Her skin takes on the consistency of rough oak bark. This form borrows power from a spriggan she once made a deal with. Somewhere in the middle of a fairy and a spriggan you will find this form. She stands an intimidating 7ft tall and is every bit as sturdy as an oak. Though still graceful this form is a fair bit more bulky and is more capable at taking hits as well as giving them. Branch like horns sprout from her head and a mane of leaves and moss make up her hair. Her eyes are as black as night and this form often dresses in tough leather clothing. When injured, this form bleeds sticky sap.

Moss Form
A more natural form used for when Gloria is in old growth forest or swamp lands. This form has skin like the roots of a mangrove tree, mossy hair that trails down her body and becomes moss running along her in a spiral pattern. Dull lilies sprout from her accenting her. At night the moss has a beautiful bioluminescence. This form also borrows magic from a deal made long ago with a water nymph and stands at 4 feet tall.

Human Illusion
This form is just a cover, an outward projection made by the Glamor to hide whatever form may be hiding within. It is of a beautiful woman with skin that has no blemish, nails a perfect length, radiant blond hair that shimmers in the sun and blue eyes the color of the deepest pools in the depths of the forest. When in the forest she projects and outfit of a ranger made from pelts, plants, and any other bounty in the forest. When out on the town she prefers opulent sparkling dresses that accent her form and catches the eye of anyone she passes. This form stands at 5’7” though typically ‘wears’ heals making her seem even taller.

Personality
Confident, Mischief, Sassy, Playful.

Likes: Plants, animals, nature, games, dancing, full moons swamps
Dislikes: Crowds, city's, lies, broken promises.

Like most Fey, Gloria has a passion for mischief and loves to play games. She has the overbearing sass mixed with confidence that fate, luck and magic will be on her side and she will win most any game she plays. She will play just about anything with anyone, friend or not. When it comes to friends and relationships Gloria keeps things pleasant yet distant. She doesn't dislike or shun any new people she meets and is overall kind and friendly  but to call someone a friend isn't so simple.  With a long lifespan, being from another world, a lasting and genuine relationship seems a bit on the difficult side. Though she does have a fondness for animals and plants prefer to hang out in a forest with animals and trees rather than most people. She will oblige in simple conversations with people but old trees have the best stories to tell.

Powers
Glamor: In its most basic forms Glamor is an illusion cast by the fey. It can make anyone see what the fey wishes the onlooker to see and is mostly used to hide or alter a form. The Glamor can also be used to sway the weak minded one way or another  and make the victim more willing to follow suggestions of the user. This is done by eye contact and when in use the eyes of the user glow a shimmery silver.

Plant manipulation: Morning Glory can make plants move to her will and can form weapons from them. Leaf blades, thorn whips, root slip traps, trip weirs out of vines, and her Flower Magic Wand.

Flower magic: More powerful on a sunny day, less powerful on cloudy days. This is energy gifted by flowers and takes from in energy blasts.

History
Angio Opsis Lazuli Aceae was born the daughter of a chief in a rural fairy village. This village was Matriarchal and she was trained to one day take her Mother’s place both among her own people and the people of the human world. In Medieval times her people had an agreement with a village that would make plenty of offerings to them and for their offerings they would look after children who wandered away and guide them back. As she got older she spent more time in the human world taking on all of her mothers duties there as both a guide and protector. Word got to her that a witch moved in next to the village that was taking in any humans and animals she could for experiments and rituals. Angio knew she had to put a stop to that.

With a sense of duty and the excitement of her first major battle running though her, she went to the cave armed with potions that could help or harm, daggers, adn a longsword. The excitement of winning and inexperience of youth saw her seek no outside help before going in, aside that of preyting to the spirts, a prey that she was surpied to have answered by a voice calling itse’f Sinthia wishing her good luck and advising her to scout out the cave in a stealth mission before going right into battle. The spirt didn’t answer any follow up questions but Angio made a note to speak to the spirt at a later date.

Going into the cave she took the advice to heart and stuck to the shadows sneaking around and learning the layout of the cave. She found a room full of forest animals and sought to free them. In the back of the room she found quite the surprise, an Allbie, alligator like fey. Grateful to be released, the Allbite named Overbite was more than willing to give her all the information she needed to know about the witch’s cave and the group of goblins that worked for the witch. This was a valuable lesson of learning about a foe before charging in so while her confidence never diminished it was a mission that helped her grow. Once she learned she was up against more than one foe she sought out some reinforcements from home and together they were able to take down the witch and the goblins. After the cave was vacated Angio was able to go thought the old witch’s library and found a book that called out to her. The Path of the Flower.

As festival time drew near Angio withdrew back to her realm and spent her days and nights reading into the book. Something about it captivated her and on the night of the Witner Moon Festival she called to the spirits once more. This time Sinthiha showed up in person to speak with her. The old spirt was a skeletal figure made of roots and branches with wings of a patchwork of flower petals. The skeleton told her to study the book for she saw something in Angio that could pick up the old Path. Sin gave her a small sample of Flower Magic, enough to let her manipulate plants and speak to them.

Time passed and the humans forgot of theri old ties, as humans tend to do with their short lifespans and present mindedness. With a town to no longer look after Angio’s mother decided to move theri small town to the City of Fey. There the people could have more resources and they could join in the collective Court and both her and her mother could focus less on their Chief duties and more on theri own lives. Her mother and her opened a nectar bar and potions shop and Angio spent all the time she could mastering what little Flower Magic she could as well as going though ever last chapter of the book and memorizing it. When she was ready, Sin came to her again and let her know it was time for another quotes, this time to seek out the Ruler of Glory.

Sin let Angio know that she was once the Fey that oversaw the Morning Glory though was violently dethroned by a demon that had snuck into the fey realm. This demon reduced Sin to nothing more than a spirt and stole the power for it’s own. Sin saw the same vein of magic in Angio that ran in her so she watched over her ever since she was a child and now that she was both strong and wise enough it was time for her powers to be back in the hands of another fey. With Sin as her guide Angio went to the skeleton’s old land, challenged the ‘master’ there and won the power for her own. With the newfound power, Angio took the common name of ‘Morning Glory’ or Gloria for short.
