Posting Order- Zigan, May, Justin, Blade, Rowan

Zigan was in an impossible position. He needed to get Blade back to Saint's city fast, but he was in Lycan form. It was a form that bayed for blood and destruction, it was hard to control, and Zigan wasn't confident he would make it home without causing more damage to his friend. But that wasn't the only problem. He knew he couldn't get Blade home without being spotted, and the last thing they needed was Ox on their tail.
The transformation was his only option, but he had to hold off for as long as possible. He could count at least four broken ribs, thanks to Blade. Shifting would be dangerous, and Zigan didn't want to risk endangering them both until he had no other choice.

He slung Blade's limp form over his shoulder, feeling his warm body swaying against his back as he straightened up and began their long journey.
His ribs screamed with effort, yet the lycan side used that pain to its advantage, turning it into anger that would drive them through the wilderness.

A couple of hours passed when Zigan broke through the wilderness, his eyes scanning the vast city beneath the forest's edge.
He slid Blade's body from his shoulder, dropping him onto the ground at his feet, as a clawed hand spread across his ribs. He pressed against them, and a snarl ripped from his throat, his other clawed hand reaching to balance himself against a tree.

His ribs were displaced, and Zigan knew his shift would be more problematic than he'd hoped.
He drew in a long breath and let his lungs expand despite the pain, a blasting roar ripping from his throat as he called for aid from any pack member within hearing distance.

"Nearly there, you'll be home soon," he sighed to Blade, as he pressed his head against the tree trunk.
Pained breaths broke the silence that answered him. And the gasps quickly turned into cries of pain as Zigan forced himself into a shift, his body hunching into a ball as he dropped onto the floor, with his arms desperately thrown around his ribs as they shifted beneath his fingers.

He woke with a gasp, and climbed to his feet quickly, realising that he'd passed out briefly during the shift.
Blade looked much larger to him now that was in human form, yet he still felt the overwhelming need to get him home to his pack.
"OK, let's go," he groaned, bending to pull the wolf's large body over his shoulder, so he could try and carry him to Saint's city.

---- Some Time Later ----

May sat in the back of the car nervously as she tried to prepare herself for what she was about to see in the clinic. Marcus's mother had called her when Zigan and Blade were found by some of Coran's men and brought to the clinic. Cass had tried to reassure her that although both men were a bit worse for wear, they would be fine, but they were in need of her abilities. Blade had apparently ' gone wild ', and Cass hoped she could keep him from losing control in her clinic. May couldn't refuse her request, and a car was sent to get her to the clinic as soon as possible.

May made sure the pups knew what was going on and where she was going on when she pulled Rowan aside. She explained the situation to him and suggested he come with her. He was nervous, and so was she, but she didn't want him growing up struggling with his abilities the same way she did, and he would only learn control if he wielded it. With some encouragement, they were both ready when the car arrived, bundled into the back of the military-type jeep, and raced to the clinic.

May looked over at her son and smiled, reaching over and squeezing his hand, wanting to fill him with comfort and confidence. " Just remember what we talked about, Row; if you feel like you are getting overwhelmed, just focus on me. " she smiled. " And if you need to be grounded, you can hold onto me. " She gently squeezed his hand, reminding him how much touch could amplify their empathic abilities. She knew she was taking a chance bringing him to the clinic. There would be plenty of people who were sick and in pain, and it could easily be too much for him. It would have been for her at his age, but Cass had separated an area of the clinic for immortals, so the likelihood was that only the wolves would be there.

The car pulled up at the back of the building, and May thanked the human before getting out and waiting for Rowan to join her side. She wouldn't hold his hand unless he took it. He was five now, and she didn't want to baby or embarrass him if he wanted to do this alone. More of Coran's men let them into the building, and once May was inside, she didn't need an escort to find her mate. She walked briskly down the corridors, following Zigans scent. There was another scent, which she assumed it was Blade's, but it was far from how she remembered it. She looked at Rowan as they got close and smiled. " Ready? " she asked, waiting for his response before entering the room.

" Zigan! " she said, both relieved he was back but concerned as she took in his injuries. She ran over to him and wanted to wrap her arms around him but hesitated as she felt the agony at the side of her chest. She looked him up and down, feeling every one of his injuries for herself before she bent down and kissed the cheek under his blind eye. " A few more scars for the collection? " she asked teasingly. She hated the pain that every one of those scars had caused him, but she knew they were as much a part of him as his wolf. Part of her did wish that Zigan wasn't always so eager to injure himself to save others, but then he wouldn't be Zigan. "

Maylin looked over her shoulder to check on Rowan, keeping a close eye on his emotions when she looked back at Zigan to explain. " I thought he could help, and you are in no condition to argue," she smirked and pecked him on the cheek. " Where's Blade? " she asked, pulling back a curtain that separated Zigan's area and his. Maylin gasped as she stared at the white wolf lying restrained on the bed. She almost didn't believe her eyes. " What happened to him? " she asked, unable to imagine what could have turned a dark wolf so shockingly white.

Justin sat with crossed arms and a slowly tapping foot in front of the car. It was a surreal feeling, driving to this clinic next to a human driver. For his mother humans were more than just black and white. A human had once saved her life. For Justin humans typically bought nothing but pain if they every got close enough to know what he was. Well that was of course unless they were members of an audience but more often than not those at the bars he used to sing at were some sort of immortal or an ally. With Coran’s resistance the number of humans who knew what they were and sided with them anyway seemed to always be growing. In a way Justin was glad for it. More allies, no matter what they were, were always a good thing. Justin would just have to learn to be able to let his guard down around humans. Maybe not all the way, but enough to give them the benefit of the doubt.

His foot slowly tapped out a rhythm, a steady drum sort of out of habit. He had always used his heart to ground himself and in times of high stress the drumming of his paws or feet. But he had come to discover giving any empaths something to focus on, steady and rhythmic, seemed to help ground them as well. He knew Maylin didn’t really need the assistance, she’d gotten so much stronger over the five years, but Rowan was young and had a heavy power on his hands. He wanted to help out any way he could. Every now and then his fingertips drummed lightly at the box that sat on his lap. They were items from his Mother to hopefully help for today. He had no doubts about half of the contents but he had some donuts about the other half. It couldn’t hurt to try though.

At first, Justin had urged her to go in his place, she had more skills in the healing arts and her light could balance Blade’s shadow if he was still a touch on the wild side. In the end she had encouraged him to go, knowing full well as beta he felt a reasonably to be by Zigan’s side. She promised to watch over the pups while both parents were away and keep things smooth there. If Blade needed help reaching back to them, light was more of a violet way to do things, but heart was a peaceful way. Zigan had done what he needed to do by force and a forceful way had it’s place. Now it was time to use a soft approach. Justin was ready to do what he could with that soft approach as they got to the clinic. Nodding farewell to the driver he stepped out and followed May and Rowan in.

The smell of the building brought back memories of the last time they were in a med bay. Justin was thankful that the pack was here on less violent terms this time around. Zigan and Blade fighting was all in all, nothing new. It was something he once foolishly tired to put a stop to, if only due to past traumas. He had far more faith in his family now that outweighed the events of the past. He knew when Zigan left he’d come back with a healthy and living Blade. Quietly he followed behind May, she should be the first to see her mate after all. As she stepped away from Zigan he stepped forward.

“No kisses from me I’m afraid!” He laughed with a smile. Lookinghim over Justin nodded. He had seen Zigan in much worse shape than this. Racing into the package he had he took out a few jars and tins and set them on the table beside Zigan. In the jars were tonics for him to take when he felt up to it to help dull any pain and speed any healing. In the tin was a salve that could be rubbed on the outside of the body to lessen burning and replace any pain with a nice comfortable warmth. Something good to focus on rather than pain would ease the mind and a happy mind could lead to faster healing. Since Alera had left the pack, she had shared some of her power with Kit and Kuzan and the two had budding healing powers. Some of their power was imbued into the salve and could do almost as much good as if they were there in person.

After explaining these he looked to where May went. “I have a delivery for our rouge wanderer. I’ll be back though if you need me!” With a nod of his head he left and went to Blade’s section. He tilted his head as he stepped into the room. “Bade…?” What on earth was with the white fur. He had known Blade for years but had never seen him this way. And he was still restrained, so he must not have been back to his old self just yet. How did his Mother figure that? Waling right up to him, Justin pulled out the one non healing object in his box of tricks. A rose. Not just any rose, a never dying rose made of the shadows of Blade’s power. Or maybe his homeland, or maybe both. Justin didn’t really know much about Blade’s home other than the shadows there were something other than Dark. It was Kit’s idea that this rose would help Blade feel at home, both with his pack around him an the memory of his homeland.

Setting the rose by the white wolf’s head he slowly listened to his heartbeat. Blade had some healing ahead of him and for startes they’d have to let his natural powers help. “Hey, um.” He looked over to an employe of the clinic. No matter the rank one held in a pack, it didnt’ always hold much rank outside of pack matters. He wasn’t really high on the foodchain in a medical place and it’s not like they really had to take his advice. But still he’d get what he needed to say out there respectfully “It’s not the norm, but can we make his area have some lights pointing near but not on him? Not bright enough to overpower the room but enough to make shadows fall right on him? I think he could use them to help heal up. He also had some more salves and oils that would help Blade out, but this wolf needed shadows to really use his strength.

He sat across a small campfire from a great beast that growled and seethed in anger at all around him. Yet, he did not feel any fear, terror, or even struggle with it. He knew this beast, had known it for his entire life. Once upon a time, it had terrified him, and it had saved his life on a few occasions when he was still learning to cope with small unit mercenary operations on a chaotic battle field. This creature before him, was him, was a part of him, his baser instincts that called for survival. Granted they also called for battle, and domination at times, but mostly survival. Meeting its gaze, purple eyes looking into purple eyes without a flinch from either side. "Its time to go again my friend, thank you for giving me time to rest. But, you dont exactly play well with others." The monster gave a deep snarl as it rose, and faded into nothingness.

To his right, sat another figure, much smaller than the beast had been. He smiled at it, at her. "You know, I really dislike that this is the only way I get to spend any time with you."
An easy smile graced her lips, "I know, but you also know you cant come with me yet."
"Yeah, I know, its still nice to pretend and convince myself otherwise every couple of centuries, at least, without taking, that, particular boat ride. Not ready to pay the ferryman yet. Someday, Im sure I'll be ready, but, not yet. I miss you."
"All in time my love, all in time." Another smile as, she too, faded into nothingness.

The third, and final, figure sat to his left. "You know, for a god, that form doesnt exactly convey a sense of majesty." He said to it.
"Eh, probably not, but I do enjoy using it, reminds me of a time, and extremely long time ago, that I was mortal."
"I still have a hard time believe you were ever mortal." Blade waved off another explanation. "Yeah yeah, youve explained it to me, and I understand it, I just have a hard time believing it."
The figure chuckled, "Fair enough, now, I think you've lingered here long enough, even I dont have the power to hold off the collector much longer if you remain." At this, what seemed like a distant bell tolled once, twice, three times, then fell silent again.
"At least I got to see her." Blade smiled, a smile that was matched by the remaining.
"At least you got to see her." Was said in agreement, as, not just the figure, but the fire and everything else, faded away into blackness.

The nurses complied with Justin's request, and as the lights shifted and shadow fell upon him, he twitched. A grow came from his chest, but not an angry or feral sound, rather, one that said, "holy hell do I hurt." His breathing gradually shifted from that of sleep, to someone awake, but not yet fully aware of their surroundings. His nose twitched as scent of the rose softly tickled it.

Rowan has been originally chilling within his bedroom, having done some rearranging of his room, something that wasn’t like him as he only did this when something was troubling his mind. It was a mesh of dealing with all the emotions that had been pilling up on him throughout the week and to top it off with the training he had been going through — He was doing what to him was helping him sort stuff out and to vent it.

That was when him and the rest of his siblings had been pulled into a meeting of sorts to talk about the fact that Blade had been found, his blue-green eyes stared towards his Mother, a small frown pulling at his lips as he could feel there was something else going on. Only for it to be confirmed moments later when he was pulled aside and suggested to come with her, Rowan knew that he didn’t really have much of a choice as he could tell from his Mother that she was requesting it to help him control, understand and learn more about his powers.

To say he was nervous was a clear understandment, he had glanced back to where they had the meeting as he often looked down upon himself as all of his siblings to him had far better and ‘flashier’ powers. Not really knowing the full capability of what he could do as an empath. But knowing that his Mother would be there he gave her a nod as they made their way towards the car.

Rowan sat in the back of the military vechile, gazing out of the window as he watched what to most would be a blur of movement, only to be taken out of his daze when his Mother reached over and took ahold of his hand as he felt her warmth and comfort — Even though Rowen wasn’t a big fan of ‘touch’ he would only allow a few people to touch him, which was often his siblings, his parents and if he truely trusted you which was a hard thing to do given he could tell when people would lie.

He turned his head to glance towards Maylin as he just gave a meek smile, the nervousness and unease was still there within him and he was trying to put up a front — Despite knowing it was hard to hide that from his own Mother who had the same ability as him, but it was more for himself than anyone else. Ro gave a slight nod towards her words of comfort, he would have come to hold her hand regardless as it was always something he did as a child whenever anything got too much for him.

His eyes then glanced over towards Justin who was tapping away, which from Kit he was learning to focus on slightly, moreso to help with his nerves

Ro soon got out of the car when they arrived, he didn’t hold her hand but he remained at least near her as they entered – His eyes glancing about the clinic as to others he most likely like a kid that didn’t want to be at the doctors. He caught the scent of his Dad, which clearly made him happy, but that was until they entered the room and he could see the wounds upon Zigan which made him frown. But regardless Rowan gave a light wave and a smile, only to let out a light chuckle towards Justin’s comment about not getting a kiss”

“Hi Dad” he piped up as Rowan spoke softly, he clearly wanted to go over and hug Zigan, like most children after not seeing their parents for awhile. His attention was soon brought over towards another when Maylin went over to a curtain and pulled it, the raven haired boy shifting a bit to clearly try to get a peak.

But he then watched towards Justin doing something with a rose and stuff and talking towards the other medics within the room, the young teen shifting a bit as he held his arm — Not wanting to get in the way of things as his eye wandered towards the floor but then over towards his Dad.

Zigan remained beside Blade until he knew he was alright. What was left of his friend slept soundly. Cassandra Blake eventually managed to persuade him to get checked over, and Zigan now lay in a bay beside Blade's bed with a curtain separating the pair. He had some badly broken ribs that needed a realigning, and some bruising but other than that he was fine. He was more worried about Blade's mental state than his own physical one. His friend seemed more beast than man, and Zigan wasn't sure what would be left of Blade if he managed to return. It was a miracle that Zigan had beaten him, and the Alpha was worried that Blade would go on the attack once again when he woke up.

Zigan lay with his hand splayed over his side, half asleep thanks to some pain medication when footsteps in the hallway drew his attention to the doorway.
"Hey," Maylin, Justin and Rowan huddled through the doorway, his eyes lingered on his son for a second longer than the others. Before he looked back at Maylinn. "I'm alright, just sore," he propped himself on his elbows, his cheek turning against Maylin as she softly kissed his cheek, "Yeah a few more," he chuckled, glancing down at the dressings that covered Blade's claw marks.
"Nothing I can't handle.."

He glanced over her shoulder, looking at his son again with some concern in his gaze as Rowan greeted him with a little wave, "Hi, Row" He smiled, not wanting to alarm his son. Rowan was a sensitive boy, but he trusted Maylin to know what was best. She must have sensed his unease and quickly explained Rowan's being there. "It's Ok," he reassured her as she kissed his cheek again. He smiled taking her hand up in his own, drawing it to his lips. "I trust you," he smiled, glancing up at the boy again.

Zigan laughed as Justin stepped into his eye line, his words lightening the mood if only for a moment. He was glad The Beta male was there. He had a way of calming situations which Zigan knew would be helpful. He also knew Justin wouldn't hesitate to defend if Blade woke up in the same feral state.
He produced a few salves and balms and placed them down for Zigan to use if he needed them.
"Thank you, Justin. Very thoughtful of you," he smiled, knowing Justin, Kit and Kuzan had been working hard.

Maylin moved from his side and pulled back the dividing screen between them and Blade with a gasp. Zigan sighed, seeing the damage that he had done to his friend. He was glad the fight had ended when it did. He was sure Blade would have killed him if he was given the upper hand.
"I'm not sure. There wasn't much of Blade left. There was only the beast. I didn't get a chance to talk to him."

Justin moved away, wanting to be closer to Blade, and Zigan didn't stop him. He watched him interact with the nurse, and soon shadows were cast across Blade's sleeping form. A moment later he stirred, and Zigan sat up, holding his hand out to stop Rowan from moving any closer. "Stay behind us, Row."

"Easy Blade. You're safe here," he called across as he pressed his arm to his side, supporting his ribs so he could stand up and take a step closer to Blade's bedside. The restraints wouldn't hold him. Zigan could only hope it would be 'their blade' that woke.

May stared at Blade; it smelled like him, a dirtier, filthier version of his scent, but it was none the less it was him. Yet she didn't recognise him. Justin seemed just as shocked as she was, but Justin walked up to Blade and pulled out a rose, laying it beside Blade's head. May stared curiously, not understanding the significance of the rose. It wasn't until Justin asked one of the staff to cast shadows on Blade that May smiled, now understanding what he was doing. " Good thinking. " May spoke softly to Justin. He had really stepped up as a Beta to Zigan, and May always appreciated how much he had done to support her mate and their family.

May suddenly gasped as her head felt like a truck had hit it. Her hand grabbed her head while her other hand indicated for Rowen to stay back. Blade was waking up and had caught her off guard. She didn't want her son to feel this pain, so she quickly put a block between him and Blade. Zigan stood and put himself between Blade and Rowan. May felt the pain in his ribs but had to refocus on Blade and keep him calm. Blade's lycan had run wild for years, and May knew the struggle of keeping that beast contained.

She deeply breathed and centred herself as Zigan told Blade he was safe. She looked at Zigan with concern as she glanced at his ribs. Zigan wasn't in a position for round two with Blade, and it only motivated May more to keep Blade from snapping again, especially with her smallest son around. She leaned over and placed a soft hand on his forearm. " Hey, stranger. " she smiled softly as she focussed on radiating calm and warmth into Blade. " Just relax. " May said, hoping that Blade wouldn't find her actions intrusive, but she had to prioritise everyone's safety until Blade could be trusted again.

Justin was glad he was able to lighten the mood a little. He could feel the slight shift about them, not from being an empath but from just knowing his family. Hospitals, sick bays, beeping machines, busy nursing staff. It could work together to put just about anyone on edge and that could really make any pain seem worse. But if they could relax, only a little this would just feel less like a place of injury and more like a place of hopeful recovery. He cast his eyes on Zigan, May, and Rowan a moment with a smile. With all of them together he felt more grounded. He always had the own beat of his heart, or any rhythm he tapped out but more and more he could use family as a way to ground him. Maybe it came with growth or the roll of Beta but he found he drew such strength from his family.

Now one member of that family was growling a sleepy, pained growl. Zigan was sitting up now and kept Rowan back. If if came to it, Zigan was in no state to go round two with Blade. May was offering comfort and Justin moved to stand closest to Blade at the ready. “Easy Blade, if anyone can come back, it’s you ‘Old Man’.” Justin said with a smile using the nickname he once used to tease Blade in the rings of the Underground. If Justin focused enough, he could almost smell the place. The alcohol and smoke, the sweat, the body heat, and the tinge of blood that seems to come from everywhere.

That place had helped Justin out more than he knew. After learning to fight from instinct alone from his untrained brother he took a new approach to combat. Justin once saw as fighting only on instinct dangerous and a little foolish. For too long he and his inner beast were like two sides of a coin, distant but there. He fought with the strategy of his calculating mind and the power and speed of his wild side. But then, he gave way to more of his instinct. At first, that thought of it being foolish rang true. He left too much open due to pride and when it seems like he had Blade again the ropes he fell to pride and taunted leading to a sneak attack and his overall loss. Since then Justin was able to more or less fine tune that way of fighting. He was less of a coin of his wild side and more of a united front. He could fight with the cunning and strategy of his mind and the more or less automatic dodges and lunges of instinct. It paid off more often than not.

For now, the term Justin used in the ring was more a term of endearment. He spoke with the power of sound behind his voice. Just as he could make a crowd sway and dance to a song and really feel it, he could push the true feeling of his heart through his words. “We miss you. It’s time to come back home.” Justin’s feelings for Blade were as tied to loss as they were to Blaze, Kyros and Mikayla. The family lost to them or assumed dead. In a way he had mourned Blade and some of that grief hung in the air now mixed with the joy of having him back home.

If Blade was still a feral best the grif would have to help Justin fuel something else. He’d no doubt have to turn that to fuel for battle since Blade’s restraints likely wouldn’t hold back his full strength. If Blade awoke a wild raging beast Justin wouldn’t hesitate to stand and fight. While May and Zigan could handle themselves, Zigan was hurt and May wasn’t as much of a fighter. Rowen was here too and Justin would do anything and everything to defend a pup. While on the outside he stood calm and collected his eyes now burned deep on Blade’s form, ready to react if need be.

It took a few minutes to sort out everything his body was telling him as he woke up. One thing he knew, he was damnable sore. Another, was that he was surrounded by Zigan, Mayin, Justin, and, someone else he didnt recognize but the scent was not dissimilar to the other 3, so he guessed a pack member. Slowly he began flexing different parts of his body and quickly found that there were restraints keeping him firmly on the table. He knew he could snap them if he wanted, but he refrained. Slowly, he opened his eyes squinting slightly against the lights of the hospital room as his pupils adjusted. Blinking, he could see that he was indeed surround by who he thought he was, including a younger man he didnt recognize.

About the only part that wasnt actually strapped down, was his tail, which he wagged slightly. "Mind taking these off so I can shift? Would rather not break them."
