Vampire Guidelines Empty Vampire Guidelines

Post by CashanSun 3 May 2020 - 17:18

Although we encourage creativity when creating characters, we have set out some guidelines for vampires to follow and give you an understanding of how they work within Immortal Bloodlines.

Weaknesses

All vampires share a particular group of weaknesses that affect their kind.  Age or bloodline will determine how great the effects. The older the vampire the less they are affected but they will still be affected to some degree. The weaknesses are

*UV either natural or manmade
*Silver
*Holy Relics or Holy Ground
*Age. Younger vampires are weaker than their senior counterparts. Whereas ancient vampires will eventually need to go ' to ground ' as their mental state deteriorates or if they sustain massive injuries.
*Immortality does not mean unkillable.

If your vampire has additional abilities we ask that you add additional weakness related to that ability so you're character is not overpowered.

Turning/becoming a vampire

For a human to be turned into a vampire, they must be drained of all their blood and then the vampire turning them must feed them their own blood.   It is not enough to bite or have vampire blood in their system.

The turning process from vampire to human takes approximately three days. They do not need to be in the ground but will need to be kept out of sunlight.

Sire Bond

Turned vampires have a sire bond to the vampire that turned them. This gives the vampire that turned them a certain level of control over them. A sire bond will also give them an awareness of one another particularly on the sire's behalf. A sire will be aware of all their fledglings and to an extent, their fledglings, fledglings.

A bond is also established with the other vampires of that bloodline. So a bond will automatically be formed with any " brothers " or " sisters " you may have.

Covens- Families

Like witches, a group of vampires is called a coven although some prefer the term family. A coven can be made up of several ways the most common being that all members are descended from the same bloodline, blood-related.

Every coven must have A Head of Family/Coven Leader who oversees them. Generally the Head of Family is the creator or descended from the creator of that bloodline.  But there are no rules as to who should lead a family as it is up to the family to choose.

Non-family members or vampires descended from another line can join a coven if they are accepted into it. To become a member of that coven and use the family name ex Death/Matashina, the Head of the Family must feed from you and in return offer their blood to you, making you part of their blood.
